Gli artiglieri all'inizio della guerra non erano
considerati militari veri e propri e potevano quindi vestirsi a loro
piacimento; dopo il 1696, riuniti in corpo militare e assoggettati alla
disciplina, ad essi fu invece fornito un vestito interamente blu con mostre,
fodera e calzoni dello stesso colore, con bottoni d'ottone e calze rosse.
I sergenti avevano la veste rosso scarlatto e un
gallone oro ai paramani. Il cappello era bordato con gallone dorato. I tamburi
portavano la livrea ducale.

The
troops of Artillery continued to be equipped with an all blue dress with facings,
lining and breeches of the same colour, with brass buttons and red stockings.
Sergeants had a scarlet red vest.
The
hat was bordered with gilt lace. In 1706 anyhow all artillerymen received red
vests and breeches.
Drummers
were equipped with a red coat, lined red with red cuffs, while the vest and
breeches were blue as for the others. The provost's "arciere" was
dressed with a completely white dress and blue vest and breeches.
